CLOVER, SC — Two people died and six others were injured, including five children, in a head-on crash Saturday afternoon on North Paraham Road in Clover. South Carolina Highway Patrol said the wreck happened just before 3 p.m. south of WH Stowe Road. The York County Coroner’s Office identified the driver of the Ford Mustang as 18-year-old Justin Meenaghan. Authorities said the Mustang left its lane, crossed the center line, and struck a Kia Sorento driven by 36-year-old Brooklyn Gilfillan.
Crash Details
Investigators said Meenaghan was driving the Mustang when it lost control and hit Gilfillan’s Sorento head on. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene, according to the coroner’s office. The collision happened on a stretch of road that runs through a rural part of Clover, and officials did not immediately release more details about what caused the vehicle to cross into oncoming traffic.
